The Intendants General of the Order of the Red Cross of Constantine support each other by travelling long distances to attend each other’s annual Divisional Conclave meetings, but they also support each other in other Orders that they are members of.
As such, several Intendants General and a Past Intendant General travelled to Wrotham in Kent to see R. Ill. Kt. Nicholas Alder installed into the chair of Adnoiram in the Kent Provincial Grand Stewards lodge of Mark Master Masons.
This was a special occasion as Nick was not a Past Master of the Mark and had to undergo the full installation ceremony, which is only done occasionally in the Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge.
The current Worshipful Master and the rest of the Officers performed a wonderful installation ceremony for Nick. He then installed his officers in an exemplary manner and then continued with the remainder of the agenda. This was done in a very skilled manner as though he had run a meeting like this before!
We then retired to the bar for some libation and friendly banter, followed by an excellent festive board with some excellent responses to the toasts, ie short.
Due to the distance home for some of the Intendants General, some of us stayed overnight at a hotel and made our way home, or for some, to another meeting the following day.
I thank W.Bro. Nick Alder for the invite to this meeting and all the members and guests for the very friendly reception and hospitality that we received.
I wish Nick all the best for his year in the chair, especially when he comes to visit Hampshire and sle of Wight to attend our Provincial Mark Grand Stewards Lodge. I am sure he will be given the same hospitality that Kent gave to us.
