Intendant General’s visit to Torquay

On one of the coldest mornings this year (2nd December) our Intendant General, R. Ill. Kt. Steven Groeger, made his way to Torquay to attend the annual Divisional Conclave meeting of the Division of Devon & Cornwall.

He joined fifty two knights from as far afield as Durham who had travelled in temperatures of up to minus 6° to attend the  meeting.

As well as several Intendants General there was also in attendance the Past Deputy Grand Sovereign, R. Ill. and Em. Kt. Peter Hawken G.C.C. and their Past Intendant General, R. Ill. Kt. Richard Lucas K.C.C.

All were welcomed with hot tea and coffee and a selection of Christmas snacks and ‘goodies’ provided by their past Intendant General’s wife and granddaughter.

The meeting commenced at 10:30 am following a procession of the V.I.P.’s and then the active Divisional Officers along with their Intendant General, Rt.Ill.Kt. Nicholas St.John Middleton White.

The Intendant General then opened Divisional Conclave and welcomed all the guests. The business of the meeting was then conducted in a most competent manner with appropriate good humour included.

Following the appointment of his Divisional officers the Intendant General gave an address to the Worthy Knights and then closed the Divisional Conclave.

We then made our way to the Anchorage Hotel for some pre-luncheon drinks and further conversation followed by a most enjoyable luncheon. We then all headed back to our respective Divisions in some slightly warmer conditions.
