The members of King Aethelwulf Conclave convened at Chilcombe Down House (Masonic Centre) in Winchester on Thursday 27th November 2025 for their regular Enthronement meeting. As the incumbent Sovereign and Viceroy were to remain in office the Enthronement ceremony was to be a simple Proclamation. Consequently the Conclave agreed to also install several candidates.
The Companions Ron Wray and Paul Southwick were installed into the Order by the Most Puissant Sovereign, Most Puissant Knight Edward Giles, ably assisted by members of the Conclave and several visitors who filled some vacant offices. The traditional Oration was given in an exceptional manner by V.Ill.Kt. Alan Hamilton.
Following the installation of the new Worthy Knights, the Conclave Marshal, P.Kt. James Jablonski, proclaimed Most Puissant Knight Edward Giles as Most Puissant Sovereign and P.Kt. Kevin Smith as Eminent Viceroy. The Sovereign then installed the remainder of his officers.
The Intendant General, R.Ill.Kt. Steven Groeger, who is a member of the Conclave, was then invited by the Sovereign to present Red Cross certificates and Appendant Orders certificates to W.Kts. Dean, Bowen and Byrnes, which he did in a very informative manner.
After the Conclave was closed everyone then proceeded to the dining room for a very convivial festive board, at which the remaining founders, V.Ill.Kt. Alan Hamilton and Ill.Kt. Roy Rowe, were toasted to commemorate the fact that the Conclave had been consecrated 30 years ago in October. A convivial atmosphere prevailed throughout the festive board. The Sovereign wished everyone a safe journey home and happy seasons greetings.
