Final Official visit of the year 2025-2026

The final Red Cross meeting of the 2025-2026 masonic season took place on Thursday 18th June 2026 at the Andover Masonic Centre for the meeting of The Milvian Bridge Conclave.

The Intendant-General, R. Ill. Kt. Steven Groeger, was in attendance with Grand and Divisional Conclave Officers, and accompanied by members of the Divisional Sepulchre Guard.

Once the Conclave was opened, the Intendant General  entered in procession with his Divisional team. He was welcomed by the MPS, V.Ill.Kt. Kevin Todd M.B.E.  who offered him the baton and his chair. The Intendant General took the chair  for a short time and took the next agenda item. Before handing back to the MPS the Intendant General addressed the attendees with his usual parish notices, reminders, and important matters of state.

Then V. Ill. Kt. Kevin Todd gave a talk on the naval aspects of the Falklands War , in which Kevin had served on a British submarine. The conflict which began in 1982 lasted for a relatively short but intense period of 10 weeks.

Kevin explained that the UK lost seven ships during the conflict, and that it was, in technical military terminology, bloody cold.

No theatre of war is a good place to be, and this was a particularly hostile environment. The Knights thanked Kevin for a well-researched and interesting presentation, and no doubt several W.Kts left with a greater appreciation of both naval history and central heating.

Then it was on to the festive board, which consisted of  lasagne with garlic bread and a helping of salad,  followed by  apple crumble and custard, then cheese and biscuits.

It was a wonderful evening enjoyed by all in attendance. Before leaving the Intendant General thanked everyone and stated that he look forward to seeing many of them at the Divisional Conclave meeting on 27th June at Botley. .and
